“My #1 piece of advice for helping you get in better shape is first and foremost, stop waiting for the perfect time to get in shape,” Coach Kim says with a smile. “Whether I’m working with a famous athlete, or people who are truly obese on a show like The Biggest Loser, or a college student, or new Mom, no matter who you are, you have to make the time--- it’s honestly the most important thing you can do!

Just start with ten minutes a day and make sure you’re consistent with it, and pretty soon ten minutes will turn into15, then 20! The next thing you know, you’ll have more energy, your clothes will fit better, and you’ll just feel good about yourself.

Look, I gained 35 pounds in college and became a personal trainer by overcoming one of my biggest struggles: Trying to shake that weight. I worked with a trainer for about 12-weeks and he genuinely changed my life. That passion led me to the National Academy of Sports Medicine where I earned my certification, and suddenly I knew my reason for being on this earth was to help people feel good about themselves and get healthier through proper nutrition and exercise.

I swear, I’m trying to make the world a better place, one drop of sweat at a time!” Kim says with her signature laugh. Lyons is that rare mix of motivation, hard-core no-nonsense guidance, and compassion that has changed millions of lives. She truly understands what you need to change in order to become the person you want to be.

“I was also a fitness competitor and I basically tried every diet on the planet. Then I became the trainer on The Biggest Loser, and I grew into learning how to help people on the emotional side; there’s so much more involved than just eating healthy and working out. The EMOTIONAL SUPPORT is super important... along with the occasional treats!

I’m lucky, because I met my hubby, Gunter Shliercamp (former Mr. Universe, and an impressive smile to go with those biceps!), one lucky day in the Weider Building in Southern California when we were both athletes for fitness legend, Joe Weider. Fate planted us in the same building, and sparks flew that led to a lifetime of Gunter and I sharing our passion for transforming lives.

“Let’s sweat with PURPOSE!” Coach Desi says with a determined look in her eye and a laugh. “What do you want? A better body? More energy? To rock an outfit you can’t wear right now? Are you willing to push to get it? Then we’re here to help--- and we know tips, secrets and what’s it’s really like to be brave, take that first step, and try to re-invent yourself a little bit, so we can talk you through it every step of the way.”

With over ten years of experience in the fitness world, Desi Flores, Sports Reporter and Fitness Coach, is all about female empowerment and living your best life through fitness, nutrition and positive actions and thoughts no matter what life throws at you.

Growing up Hispanic in an all-white community, Desi says: “I was pretty much the only brown person in the county! When my step-father got assigned to Idaho and we moved from California, where Latinos are the majority, yeah, total culture shock. We couldn’t even buy real tortillas, fresh salsa or Adobo seasoning at a grocery store. The basics!  And, of course, I never looked like any of the other girls and had a tendency to be thicker, with a bigger booty, than the white girls.”

Looking at Coach Desi today, it would be easy for women to underestimate the courage and strength it’s taken to get the physique she wanted, the freedom to be herself, and the courage to “take the path less traveled” when faced with tough choices.

Desi loves nothing more than empowering other women and encouraging them to support one another in all their goals.

“I feel like I’ve been prepping my whole life so I can really help all the BodyBoss women out there who might feel alone, or have some negativity in their lives, or just aren’t even sure what to do or where to start--- especially with the food part! And I love good food, but I’m gonna share healthy alternatives to things you’re craving, so you can eat things you like, but see your body and energy transforming.”

So, get ready! Deseree says: “It’s not about being ‘perfect’--- whatever that means, it’s about trying, doing anything to move toward your goals. Just keep moving and don’t quit. Gordon started his health and fitness journey at 22. His university experience, and his first job after studying, had been more “play hard” than “work hard”, with many late nights, parties and unhealthy late night snacks. Although he was enjoying living in the moment and hiding the extra pounds with fashionable clothes, the reality of his situation struck him when an old friend commented, “Hey Gordon, you got fat”. “From that night on”, says Gordon, “it lit a fire in my belly to get back into shape and turn my life around.”

Although the first few weeks were easy and he was finding success with the training sessions and nutrition plans he borrowed from fitness magazines, he found himself wanting to show off his progress, and to reward himself with bingeing on drinks and junk food on the weekend. This led to a vicious cycle of extreme diets and counting calories, all of which were only temporary and would end up with Gordon gorging on his favorite treats.

To help himself learn more about what would make his weight loss journey sustainable, Gordon began to educate himself on all aspects of fitness and personal development, meditation and yoga. His aim was not only to keep his results, but also to take his results to the next level. With the help of his mentor, Gordon learned how to train for longevity, optimal health and results.Gordon has spent years studying fitness and nutrition and has worked hard to be able to more efficiently replicate for his clients the health and fitness results he has achieved.

“Coaching isn’t always praise and encouragement,” says Gordon, “sometimes the praise and encouragement doesn’t come until after the job is done; because really sometimes that’s what it’s going to take for someone to do the work. Once the job is done, no one can ever take that away from you.”
